Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom - Rides & Attractions Descriptions

While I encourage all guests to Walt Disney World to review ride descriptions and make their own choices on rides they are attracted to, I also have found it useful myself to read reviews and opinions before riding.  Below, please find the current Magic Kingdom ride and attraction offerings - you will see Disney's take on it, followed by some brief thoughts from me.  The attractions with a smiley face next to them are toddler-friendly.

Take a whirl on this wonderfully wacky tea party that is right out of The Mad Hatter and the March Hare's "Unbirthday" party in Disney's "Alice in Wonderland." This colorful, musical party ride lets you decide whether to spin wildly or remain gentle. If spinning is your cup of tea, you'll be dizzy with laughter.
--Brook’s Notes: Always fun...and slightly nauseating at the same time!

The Enchanted Tiki Room
This lively revue showcases a colorful menagerie of flowers, tikis and 200 performing Audio-Animatronic birds. Take a seat in a cool tropical pavilion, sit back and watch these enchanted performers assemble along the ceiling of the circular theater. As the lights go down, the birds spring into action with a melodic musical performance.

Swiss Family Treehouse
Transport yourself into the lives of the Swiss Family Robinson who were tossed onto a deserted South Seas island. Not only does the family make do — but they build a treehouse and a life for themselves that is the envy of all who visit. You'll never want to "leaf."
--Brook’s Notes: A LOT of steps and climbing, but there are some neat details and wonderful views from the top. If you are a fan of this movie, it’s fun to explore.

Liberty Square
The Haunted Mansion
Make yourself at "tomb sweet tomb" in the home of 999 happy haunts, where there's "always room for one more." Inside, hop on a Doom Buggy to get in the "spirit" of things. Experience the stretching room, the séance and hitchhiking ghosts in this Disney classic.
This attraction has FASTPASS
--Brook’s Notes: This isn’t really scary, more hokey, but there are a lot of ghosts. If your kids frighten easily, it might be one you want to skip. Otherwise, it’s a favorite among guests - the detail inside is fantastic. Be sure to watch for the hitch-hiking ghosts at the end!

The Hall of Presidents
Marvel at how theatrical magic brings you up close and personal to all of the Presidents of the United States. This sweeping tribute is a Disney classic. In a one-of-a-kind combination of dazzling widescreen film, breath-taking Audio Animatronics® and Disney storytelling, all 44 U. S. presidents gather to hear the words of Abraham Lincoln.
--Brook’s Notes: Very educational and moving. Comfy theater seats, 20 minute show. Air-conditioned. Children might get bored and antsy.

Liberty Square Riverboat
Take a journey back in time aboard this genuine replica of an early American steam ship. Cruise around Tom Sawyer Island as you take in the ambience of the gently-rolling river. If you hear the whistle a-blowin', the ship is a-goin'!

Meet Rapunzel
You are invited to the Fairytale Garden for a brush with Rapunzel from Tangled, the new Walt Disney Pictures film. Come meet the newest Disney heroine.
Location: Fantasyland
--Brook’s Notes: Wildly popular. If Rapunzel is on your must-do list, get there early! The line forms quickly. It’s not unheard of to wait over an hour. This is more than a meet & greet like the other characters, it’s more interactive and hands-on with Rapunzel.
